The Fraud Litigation department is headed up jointly by Richard Mallett and John Day.
The Fraud Litigation team brings to bear considerable experience of both civil and criminal investigations and prosecutions mounted by all the major law enforcement bodies including the National Crime Squad, the Serious Fraud Office, Department of Trade and Industry, HM Revenue and Customs and the Financial Services Authority.
The firm has specialist knowledge of the law on Money Laundering, Missing Trader Fraud, VAT Fraud, Carousel Fraud and Mortgage Fraud. The firm has had considerable involvement in overseas investigations and prosecutions and is used to working closely with overseas lawyers and their clients and if required can call upon leading barristers, QCs, forensic accountants and other key specialists as necessary.
The Firm also has extensive experience in asset recovery and obtaining and defending against freezing orders and search orders in both domestic and international jurisdictions.
Commercial & Corporate Litigation
The Commercial & Corporate Litigation department is headed up jointly by John Day and Chris Parslew.
Chris and John are experienced commercial lawyers who have litigated a wide variety of disputes and Judicial Reviews. Between them they have over 24 years of business and commercially orientated litigation experience including a series of complex, high profile claims ranging over international trade, shipping, construction, real property, employment, contract and international contract, trust, multi-jurisdictional litigation, corporate disputes, alternative dispute resolution and VAT tribunal work.
They are supported by a dedicated team of lawyers and staff, which is carefully developed to provide support for our client’s needs and the ability to provide an instant and comprehensive response at the exact time required by our clients.
General Criminal Litigation
The General Criminal Litigation department is headed by Richard
Mallett.
An experienced criminal litigator, Richard leads a dynamic
defence team that specialises in defending both high profile
clients and serious crime. With experience of cases from the
police station to the House of Lords the pro-active approach
of the criminal litigation team has resulted in the successful
defence of clients charged with allegations that include serious
fraud, murder, evasion of excise duty and money laundering.
Miltary Law Litigation
The Military Law department is headed by Solicitor and former
Barrister John Hartley.
John leads a military law team dedicated
to providing the best possible service to military personnel.
As members of the Association of Military Court Advocates
the department has considerable experience in successfully
defending clients investigated and prosecuted under the military
courts system including representing clients in cases that
have arisen as a result of the recent Iraqi and Afghanistan
conflicts.
Family Litigation
The Family Litigation department is headed up jointly by Patricia Jennings and Neil Remnant.

Sports and Media
The Sports and Media Department is headed by James MacWhirter.
We are able to deal with a full array of matters within this area from negotiating and implementing contracts, image rights, intellectual property rights and sponsorship agreements to overseeing media projects. We can assist with any contractual matter and advice, set up and maintain business structures in order to achieve your aims.
